Brian and Melanie are Engaged!
This past Friday night, Brian managed to get Melanie out in public, despite her repeated attempts to try to go home and cuddle up in bed. (I think you finally made the right decision, don’t you Mel?). Even down to the last minute, once Brian had picked his spot, next to the central Aviary in the Conservatory bar between the Galt Houses, Mel kept trying to pull away to talk to Ang and I (there was apparently some discussion over whether finches are baby birds, and Ang was appointed tie-breaker). Fortunately my man Brian can be persuasive and persistent, and finally got the words out. There was a bit of concern when Mel’s first response was “What?! Are you doing it now? Not yet! Don’t do it now!”, or something like that, but apparently she was just out of her mind when she realized she was being proposed to. Come to think of it noone’s sure she literally said “Yes”, but judging from the weekend of celebrating afterwards, I think that’s how everyone’s taking it.
